Molly & Ben both grew up on the Western Slope of Colorado, but didn't meet until they'd established themselves in Denver. Their style represents the perfect mix of country and city and extreme adventure and lay-in-PJs-all-day. It is no surprise that they chose a small orchard (shout out to the wonderful Bella Bolettino Farms!) in Palisade, CO for their wedding - a beautiful orchard right on the Colorado river that perfectly balances the ruggedness of the Grand Valley with the sophistication of Palisade's vineyards. 

 

Molly & Ben's wedding was one of the first weddings I began to design in 2021, and Molly quickly identified the theme when she said "I don't know, really just an old lady forager theme"- and bingo! - a vision came to life. Using a combination of tinted glass (picked by the mother of the bride) and white vases, along with ceramics purchased at an estate sale, the florals for the ceremony stage and reception began to take shape. The color palette for the wedding captured the season - late summer turning to early fall - with dusty greens, tans, oranges, reds, corals, bright pinks, and deep purples. The couple also wanted to prioritize blooms from local growers, so the vast majority of blooms were grown on the front range (purchased through the amazing Colorado Flower Collective) and in Paonia (from the incredible Zephyros Farm & Garden). The local flowers were nicely complimented by the couples' personal rock collection (Ben is a geologist), which adorned and served as names for the reception tables.

 

It is worth noting that many of the weddings HerrinHall did this year were for friends and acquaintances. Molly & Ben are some of Lila's (HerrinHall's owner) closest friends. While doing florals AND attending friends' weddings can be a difficult balance - HerrinHall was beyond honored to be trusted with the floral responsibilities for this wedding. And through some planning with the couple, HerrinHall was also able to attend all of the festivities and live in the moment and love of the weekend.
